I am scanning in family heirloom photos and wanted a way to share them with other family members. This software allows you to create photo albums to show on your computer. It is very easy to use. If you can use Windows Explorer, you can be up and running very easily. Things I liked best about it: 1. Most important is that you can create self-executable CDs so that you can give away a CD of your digital photo album that will open up and run on almost any computer. 2) The pictures you put into it are retained as individual files in their original format (.jpg, .tif, etc.) so that you or someone else can copy them later to use in other programs, 3) photos can be printed from the CD you create and can be viewed full screen size one at a time. 4) you can add text pages, blank pages and bookmarks to your album. It includes a small selection of music and album covers. The most serious shortcoming is that to arrange the photos you need to drag and drop and can’t cut and paste. Any new photo added goes to the last page until you drag and drop to a different location in the album. If you have 400 photos, dragging and dropping is very labor intensive and difficult, making it desirable to name your photos in a way that you can organize them before moving them to the Flipalbum software (for example the file name would start with a number). Were it not for this drawback I would have given it a 5. The number of photos you can add is only limited by the capacity of CD or other storage. NOTE; that you must have a CDRW and software separate from this program in order to create the CDs. All in all, though a really simple easy to use program. Even if better software comes along later and you don’t use it anymore, the time learning and creating the photo albums is short enough that it’s worth using in the meantime.
